Young's Morning Porridge


Young's loves to use quinoa in dishes because it is a seed-grain that carries the most protein out of any other cereal grain, has balanced amino acids and is an excellent source of magnesium, iron and potassium. Quinoa is often used in savory dishes in place of rice or couscous, but in this recipe we let quinoa sing a sweeter song. This delicious superfood will supercharge your mornings and make them all the more healthy!

Young's Morning Porridge

{serves 2-3 with 20 minute cook time}


1 cup of coconut or almond milk

2 cups of water

1 cup of quinoa--rinsed well

pinch of salt

1 1/2 Tbsp. agave or 1 mashed banana

red and blue fruits for topping

1. Combine the milk, quinoa, water and salt in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and then simmer over medium-low flame for 15-20 minutes until creamy and the quinoa is completely cooked.

2. Mix in the agave or banana to sweeten.

3. Top with fruits to serve.
